Good morning and happy Sunday to you! How was your weekend? Mine was a chilly one but productive so I'm feeling good about starting off my week in a positive mindset.
I have a layout to share with you today, for Scrap & Music. My DT term will come to an end at the end of this month so this will be my last layout shared as part of their team. Many thanks to Ana Castro for an awesome ride! I fully enjoyed it!
For this challenge the chosen song is Better Together by Jack Johnson. When I heard the lyrics "when the morning light sings" I instantly thought of this sunrise picture! It was perfect and I couldn't wait to get started.
This is an awesome shot of the morning sunrise at Elk lake, located in Northern Michigan. It's so beautiful that it gives me the chills! Of course a picture never gives the actual moment enough justice but close enough, right?
For this layout I used a mish mosh of items for my embellishments - misc layered flowers, a mixture of packaged lettering, a small shipping tag, black arrow washi tape and my most favorite... wooden accents! I added a few gold gems too, and that about sums it up! As for the papers, the collection is called Songbird by Prima. The background paper is craft with a strip of vellum to the right. Here are a few close ups ...
When scrapping to music there are so many possibilities so I do hope that you'll give it a try and join in with us! Along with the song is a sketch to follow as well
It's a fun one! For full details on how to play along and for some inspiration jump on over to Scrap & Music now.
Thanks for much for stopping by and happy scrapping to you!

1978
Hello, hello scrappy friends and happy Saturday to you! How is your weekend going so far? Is it a crafty one?
Today I have a layout that I created for Stuck?! The sketch to follow for this challenge is a fun one with many possibilities! Here is my take
This is me in 1978 sitting on Santa's lap. I'm in the 5th grade and I STILL believed in Santa! Oh, I would get so excited when I seen him. I remember this photo being taken as if it was yesterday.
For this layout I used an older Christmas collection by Crate Paper called Peppermint . I have no idea why I've been hoarding it. Sometimes I actually forget which collections I have stashed. That's pretty bad, isn't it? Anyway, most of the embellishments are from the collection as well. I added some wooden accents and some paint splatters. For my numbers I used Perfect Pearls in gold. This was my first time using this and I love it! I will be added more of this to my future layouts. All I did was color over my acyrilic numbers with a perfect medium brush pen and then dipped a paint brush into the Perfect Pearls powder and brushed over the medium. Easy Peasy and such a cool effect! I also added 3D Crystal Lacquer over the top of the Perfect Pearls for a glossy look.
Here are some close ups for better detail
Here is the sketch to follow, created by Laura Whitaker. I hope you can join in! I look forward to seeing your creations. For complete challenge rules and prizes to be won click here. Winners will be chosen by random. Just follow the sketch below to participate

Time Flies
G'day scrappy friends! I hope your weekend has been a good one as it nears to an end, and happy Sunday to you!
Today I have a new layout for Scrap and Music. The song for this challenge is Someone Like You by Adele. Ohh, how I love this song! The song lyric within the music I chose for my title is Time Flies and boy is it ever flying by!
Here is my take
This is my son, my baby, at his kindergarten graduation and at his high school graduation. That's 12 years gone by in an instant! Wow, it really did just fly by!
For this layout I used an older kit of mine from Little Red Scrapbook and I don't remember the exact month but it is from 2013. The paper collection is Wonderful Day by Fancy Pants, along with most of the embellishments as well. I scattered a few wood grain stars by Studio Calico and added some wooden chevrons too. You can never go wrong with wooden accents. I'd have to say they are favorite right now. At the bottom of the page I added a solid strip of cardstock with a line of journaling, which I created from my Olympia typewriter, which accommodates 12x12 paper.

Keep Calm & Travel On
TGIF, right? Happy Friday friends! One week down into March and 2 more weeks until Spring!! Ohh I look so forward to it! It's been such a brutal winter and I'm sick of being cooped up.
Now on to scrappy things! I have for you today my DT layout for Challenge YOUrself. The challenge for this month is to complete this motivational quote: "Keep Calm and _____" You fill in the blank. What drives you? What keeps you going? We've all got that something. Oh, and one more thing, it can NOT be scrapbook related and don't forget to include YOU in the photo! Ok, now go have fun with it and be creative!
Here is my take
That's right! Travel On! I just love to travel! Whether it be by plane, train, automobile or boat - I dont care, just let me travel. I'm not picky on how I get there ;)
For this layout I used two collections. One being, Travel Girl by October Afternoon and the other, Urban Travel by Simple Stories. I love being able to mix collections together and making them work. And you just got to love the wooden travel shapes - car, plane and boat. I didn't have a train. For my pictures, I created a collage showing myself traveling by different means of transportation and stating that in the center.
Here are some close ups
I had so much fun creating this layout and now its your turn! We all have that one thing that drives us! Now its time to scrap it! I cant wait to see what you come up with. There are some goodies to be won so be sure to link up by April 5th! For full details visit Challenge YOUself now.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope that you can join in with us this month. Happy scrapping to you!

Best Buds
Happy Happy March! Ohh, just saying March makes me smile. Spring is getting closer and I'm so ready for it to arrive since it's been such a long, cold and snowy winter for us.
Today I have a layout to share with you for Stuck?!
This is my daughter with our precious fur baby, Giddy, in 2009. Giddy is a people person cat but not the most snuggly cat so when he is you better take advantage of it!. Brenna did so by setting up her self-timer to catch it on film! I just love this picture of them both <3
For this layout I used random papers from my paper scraps. It came together pretty quickly and easy and that's unusual for me. Notice my pictures, I did an ombre effect with them and created a filmstrip in my photo program, Picasa. I used a doilie as a misting mask behind my photos. I have to say, I like how it turned out. Pretty simple but yet very cute!
Here are some close ups
Now it's your turn! Follow the sketch below and be sure to link up by March 29 for your chance to win some scrappy goodies by random draw! Check out Stuck?! for full details.
I hope you can find the time to join in with us. I look forward to seeing your creations! Thanks for stopping by and happy scrapping to you!

Dont Worry Be Happy
Hello scrappy friends!
I have my layout to share with you for Scrap & Music. The song for this challenge is Dont Worry Be Happy by Bob Marley. What a fun song to scrap! Here is my take
I felt this was the perfect picture to accommodate this song. Here I am, feet up, relaxing in the canoe without a worry in the world as my man paddles us down the Platte river. Ahhh, now this is the good life! It was the perfect summer day too!
For this layout I used DIY Shop 6X6 paper pad by Crate Paper. These pads are perfect for this type of layout. For my hearts I used my heart paper punch, but before punching them out I cut 3 strips to the size needed and used my crimper to give them a pleated look. I then lightly inked the edges. I love how they turned out.
Here are a couple closeups
and here is the sketch to follow
To participate all you need to do is create a layout using the above sketch and a lyric of the song as the title. Give it a try and have fun with it! Check out Scrap & Music for further details and inspiration.
Thanks for stopping by and happy scrapping to you!

PALS
Hello scrappy friends!
What crazy weather we are having in my part of the world. Today it is raining like crazy with thunderstorms and a couple days ago it was a blizzard. Mother Nature sure is confusing me! I'm just ready for this winter to be over!
Anyway, on to scrappy things. Today I have a layout to share with you. I was able to get in a NON DT layout! This one is for Let's Get Sketchy. It's one of my favorite sketch challenge sites.
These are my kiddies back in 1995. Wowsie! Where does the time go?? At this age they were pals, always playing together. Brenna would be like a little mother to her brother. It was so sweet.
For this layout I used Lovely by Authentique. For my background I decided on a sunburst to use with my mist. I like the effect and the offset color. My embellishments are a mixture from my stash and you can never go wrong with using doilies. I just inked the edges to make them stand out more.
Here are some close ups for better detail
and now for the sketch to follow
That's all I've got for today! I hope I've inspired you like Let's Get Sketchy has inspired me.
Thanks so much for stopping by and happy scrapping to you!
