Dont Worry Be Happy

Hello scrappy friends!

I have my layout to share with you for Scrap & Music.  The song for this challenge is Dont Worry Be Happy by Bob Marley.  What a fun song to scrap!  Here is my take

I felt this was the perfect picture to accommodate this song.  Here I am, feet up, relaxing in the canoe without a worry in the world as my man paddles us down the Platte river.  Ahhh, now this is the good life!  It was the perfect summer day too!

For this layout I used DIY Shop 6X6 paper pad by Crate Paper.  These pads are perfect for this type of layout.  For my hearts I used my heart paper punch, but before punching them out I cut 3 strips to the size needed and used my crimper to give them a pleated look.  I then lightly inked the edges.  I love how they turned out.

Here are a couple closeups

and here is the sketch to follow

To participate all you need to do is create a layout using the above sketch and a lyric of the song as the title.  Give it a try and have fun with it!  Check out Scrap & Music for further details and inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by and happy scrapping to you!

PALS

Hello scrappy friends!
What crazy weather we are having in my part of the world.  Today it is raining like crazy with thunderstorms and a couple days ago it was a blizzard.  Mother Nature sure is confusing me!  I'm just ready for this winter to be over!

Anyway, on to scrappy things.  Today I have a layout to share with you.  I was able to get in a NON DT layout!  This one is for Let's Get Sketchy.  It's one of my favorite sketch challenge sites.

These are my kiddies back in 1995.  Wowsie!  Where does the time go??  At this age they were pals, always playing together.  Brenna would be like a little mother to her brother.  It was so sweet.

For this layout I used Lovely by Authentique.  For my background I decided on a sunburst to use with my mist.  I like the effect and the offset color.  My embellishments are a mixture from my stash and you can never go wrong with using doilies.  I just inked the edges to make them stand out more.

and now for the sketch to follow

That's all I've got for today!  I hope I've inspired you like Let's Get Sketchy has inspired me.

Thanks so much for stopping by and happy scrapping to you!

kids @ play

Hello, hello and happy Saturday to you!
Today is the 15th so that means we have a new sketch up at Stuck?!

Here is my take.

Yes, these are my two silly kids.  My daughter is always taking selfies and on a rare occasion she got her brother to join in.  I just love seeing this, it means they are getting along for a minute.

With this layout I used my Studio Calico kit, back from Aug 2013 called Marks & Co.  I just love the soft colors with my darker photos, making them pop right off the page.  I splattered my background with silver mist, added some sequins and topped it off with a few misc embellishments.  Oh, and I got out my typewriter, for my journaling.  I absolutely love that machine!

Here are some close ups for better viewing.

As you can see it's a pretty simple sketch, so have fun dressing it up!  And be sure to link up before February 26 for a chance to win a prize by random.org!  Visit Stuck?! for full entry details.

Thanks for stopping by and happy scrapping to you!

the Dancing Queen

Hello scrappy friends.  Wow!  One week down into February already.  Where does the time go?  Are you ready for Valentine's Day?

Today I have my DT layout for Scrap & Music.  With this challenge the song is Dancing Queen by ABBA.  How fun is that?  Such a classic.  Here is my take.

This is my daughter-in-law on her wedding night.  She literally danced the night away, being on that dance floor from right after cutting the cake until the DJ shut down!  She was the Dancing Queen for sure!

For this layout I used the Miss Caroline paper collection by My Mind's Eye.  I also gathered some misc embellishments that coordinated from my stash.

Here are a few close ups for better detail

All you have to do is put these two together: SKETCH+MUSIC. Create a page using the above sketch and part of the song as a title.  The song again, Dancing Queen by ABBA.  Click here for full details.

There are so many possibilities, as you can see I turned the sketch.  Give it a try and have fun with it!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Enjoy the day and happy scrapping to you!

A Mom's Love never dies

Hello scrappy friends and happy Friday to you!

We have a new challenge for you to tackle at Challenge YOUrself.  This month - All you need is love with a Color Combo.  To participate all you need to do is scrap about somebody you love using the color combo and remember to include YOU in the photo.  Here is my take...

This is my mom and I in 2007, its one of the last photos taken of us together before she passed away unexpectedly in October, 2007.  I love and miss my mom dearly so I cherish this photo.

For this layout I used the Hopscotch collection by BasicGrey.  Its an older collection, I know, but that means I'm using up some of my stash and the colors are perfect for this challenge!  I also dug out some older butterfly masks for misting.  I love how it turned out.

Here are a couple close ups for better detail...

and now for the color combo to follow...

Now its your turn!  Are you ready to tackle this?  Check out Challenge Yourself  for more inspiration from our talented design team members and to get your creative juices flowing.  Be sure to link up by March 5 to win some goodies!

Just laugh

Happy February!

Today is the first day of the month so that means we have a new sketch up at Stuck?!  It is a fun one too so I do hope that you can find time to join in with us.  Here is my take...

This is my daughter and I taking a selfie with my new point & shoot camera.  It seems we can never take a decent photo, we are always breaking into laughter.  As the saying goes "laughter is the best medicine" well we get plenty of that!

For this layout I used Studio Calico's January kit, Copper Mountain.  The paper choices were perfect for my picture.  I just loved that bubble wooden accent (behind my photo) and had to use it.  I also gathered some misc embellishments from my stash that were color coordinated.

Here are a few close ups for better viewing

and now for the sketch to follow

I really had a lot of fun working with this sketch.  Its very versatile so have fun with it!  Be sure to link up before February 26 for your chance to win by random.org.  Click here for full details.
