JOY

We've got a Christmas table setting for you to use as inspiration at The Studio Challenges.  I just love these kinds of challenges.  It really gets my mind racing.  Here is what I came up with.

and here is your table setting for inspiration.

Is this beautiful or what??!!  All kinds of things were screaming at me when I looked at this setting... the colors, the plaid, the pops of gold, the pine trees, the deer.  Oh my, I was so overwhelmed but I did managed to incorporated all things mentioned above into my layout.

I used the Cozy Christmas collection by My Mind's Eye.  It was the perfect choice and it couldn't be any more fitting for this challenge, with the colors and that plaid paper...perfect! Also, let me point out the transparency that I placed over the plaid paper...love!  It was just the right touch to add some punch of gold.  I also added some gold splatters along with some gold gems to balance it out.  I just love how it turned out and I have to say, I totally nailed this inspirational challenge!  What do you think?

Now it's your turn!  Get into that holiday spirit and get going!  Our table setting inspiration awaits you.  Be sure to share with us at The Studio Challenges for your chance to be a chosen Guest Designer.  How fun would that be!

Thanks so much for stopping by and happy scrapping to you!

Pearly Girly

I've got a new layout to share today for our new challenge up at The Studio Challenges.  We've got a sketch to follow.  It was love at first sight for me because I just love to play with circles!

Aww, just look at our little princess.  Pearl was adopted into our family over a year ago and she fits right in!  She is truly a joy to have around.  Even though she is considered an adult cat now, she will always be a baby to me.

I really didn't use much product for this layout.  It's a more simple look but still has quite a bang.  The background paper is from the Capture Life collection by Allison Kreft.  It was the perfect effect I wanted with Pearl relaxing and sunning herself, giving the feel of the sun beams. Behind the photo I layered with plain white package tissue paper.  All I did was crinkle it up and rough up the edges by tearing it.  I'm really happy with how it turned out.

Again, I just love playing with circles so I really enjoyed working with this sketch.  I did mix things up a little but that's what I love about sketches, they are such a great starting point.  And now it's your turn to give it a try.

Be sure to share with us at The Studio Challenges.  I really look forward to see what you come up with.

That's it for today.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Happy scrapping to you!

Gathered Together

A new challenge is up at The Studio Challenges and it's time to get inspired by a lovely table setting photo.  Here is my inspirational take to share with you.

and here is the beautiful table setting photo to inspire you!

What instantly inspires you about this photo?  For me it was the banquet table, the place settings, the centerpiece, the holidays... but most of all, the warm loving feeling of family all together!

For this layout I used the Wish Season collection by Fancy Pants.  I'm totally in love with the colors and the fun embellishments included.  The only additional items I used were some little wooden accents and a strip of ripped vellum.  This all came together so easy and I just love how it turned out!

What do you think?  Are you inspired?  I sure hope so!  Go take another look at our table setting photo and get creative.  I really look forward to seeing what you come up with.  Be sure to share with us at The Studio Challenges for your chance to be one of our Guest Designers.

Thanks so much for stopping by and happy scrapping to you!

Hello Sunshine

We've got new challenge up at The Studio Challenges!  I do hope that you take the time to join in with us.  It's a fun one to kick start November!  It's all about color and we've got a beautiful fall palette to follow.  Here is my take.

and here is the color palette to follow

Aren't the colors beautiful?! And the sunflowers?!  Perfect for this time of year.  I just fell in love with it!  The color bar layout also inspired me and I created my layout from that design.  I'm really happy with my turn out.  Here are a few close ups for more detail.

As you can see I also incorporated a sunflower in my layout as well.  They are one of my most favorite flowers and this was the perfect opportunity for me to scrap one of my many pictures I have of the gorgeous sunflower fields that are located in upper Michigan.

For this layout I used my August scrapbook kit from Gossamer Blue.  The mixture of paper prints were perfect for this challenge and I didn't have to dig to deep to match the colors.

Now it's your turn!  Go have some fun with it and be sure to share with us at The Studio Challenges.  I'd really love to see what you come up with!  Thanks so much for stopping by and happy scrapping to you!

Let's play makeup Grammie!

I've got some exciting news to share!

I have made the team and I am now one of the newest designers for The Studio Challenges!  I'm so honored and very excited about this!  With taking the summer off from scrapping this is the perfect opportunity for me to get back into it!

So with that being said, I've got my first designer layout to share with you today.  We have a fun game of tic-tac-toe this week.

And here is the tic-tac-toe grid.  I chose the diagonal column, wood - thread - twine.

How fun and so many possibilities with this game.  When I seen the choice of wood I knew that was a must!  I'm so in love with all those little wood accents and actually somewhat addicted!  I've got tons.

For this layout I used a handful of misc project life cards.  I don't scrap in that style so I have many to use up and this is what I came up with.  After adding a mix of little embellishments and my tic-tac-toe needs I'm happy with my outcome. What do you think?  Here a few closer looks for you.

Now it's your turn to join in with us at Studio Challenges!  Study that grid and go have some fun with it!  So many fun possibilities and I can't wait to see what you come up with!  Be sure to link up for your chance to be a guest designer with us!

That's it for today.  Thanks so much for stopping by and happy scrapping to you!

Off We Go

I'm back today as Guest Designer for The Paper Girls Challenge Blog sharing my 2nd layout.  The theme for this challenge is vacation/trip/travel.

For this layout I used the Travel Stories collection by Carta Bella.  It's the perfect choice for this theme.  I just love the colors and prints!  Very versatile for most photos.  I kept it pretty clean and simple this time, with some light layering, coordinating collection stickers, little stamping and then topped it off with some little wooden accents.  For my title I traced the word "WE" from an old stencil and did some fussy cutting.

What an honor it has been Guest Designing for The Paper Girls Challenge Blog this month!  Thanks for having me, I had so much fun!

That's it for now.  Thanks so much for stopping by and happy scrapping to you.

Celebrate Freedom

Happy 4th of July friends!
I've got some happy news to share!  I'm excited to announce that I have been invited for the month of July to Guest Design for The Paper Girls Challenge Blog.  Eeek!  I'm so thrilled about this, it's such an honor!

Today I am sharing my first layout for Challenge #107 which is concentrating on a Patriotic theme.  I used the perfect collection too, Sweet Liberty by Echo Park.

I'm in love with all of the fun prints and I did my best to include most of them.  For my photo, I did some fussy cutting of ourselves out of one photo and layered it onto another photo for a 3D effect and because I wanted to display my favorite parts of both and make it into one.  Both photos were from the same day just not in the same picture.  I really loved how it turned out!  What do you think?

That's it for today.  Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to stop back by in two weeks for another Guest Designer layout.  Until then... happy scrapping to you!

Happiness

Hello!  Hello!
A new month = a new layout to share with you for Challenge YOUrself!  This month it's all about geometric shapes and patterns, and most importantly including YOU in the photo!  Here is mine to share.

This man of mine is my absolute soulmate and he brings me nothing but happiness to my life!  I just love him to pieces and love to show him off whenever I can!

Hmm, it's actually hard for me to pinpoint the geometric shape that I used.  I was going for diamonds but the more I look at it, it can be squares or triangles too.  But none the less, it involves shapes and a pattern!  This is also a great way to use up scrap paper as well.

Now it's your turn to join in with Challenge YOUrself.  This is such a fun challenge with unlimited possibilities!  Go get creative and be sure to link up with us before July 4 for your chance to win a prize!  I'm really looking forward to seeing your layouts.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Enjoy your day and happy scrapping to you!

Wholehearted

Today I'd like to share a layout I created for the May scrap challenge at Scrap Our Stash.   It's book inspired and you must use flowers.  Here is my take

and here is the book cover

I totally fell in love with this book cover the second I seen it.  The first thing that inspired me was the heart and then the colors.  From that very moment my mind started racing with ideas and I knew the perfect picture to work with.  And as for adding flowers... who doesn't have enough of them?

I have been wanting to scrap this photo for some time now.  It is one of my favorites and I really love how my layout turned out.  Here are a few close ups for better details.

Such yummy papers, wouldn't you agree?  And my photo fits in so perfectly!

That's it from me today.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again.  As always, happy scrapping and have a great day!

All The Possibilities

Happy May friends and welcome!

Our new challenge is up at Challenge YOUrself!  Yes, we're a few days early because for this month we are gearing up with Scrap It With A Song!  That means double the fun in one layout!  We've got a mood board for inspiration and a song for you to choose.

As for the mood board, choose anything about it that inspires you most.  Whether it be the colors, a certain element, the words or one particular photo.  Also, don't forget to include YOU in the photo!  And for the songs to pick from here are your choices... a pop song by American Authors "Best Day Of My Life" ~or~ a rock song by Kensington "So Am I". The choice is yours!  Just click on the title for the song lyrics.

Here is my take.

What inspired me most about the inspiration board was the sun and the shining rays.  So that made me get out a stencil and my molding paste to create my sun rays.  After drying I painted it yellow to make it pop and to pull all my colors together.

As for the song, I chose "Best Day Of My Life"  I feel any day spent with my three grandchildren is the best day of my life.  Besides the song being beautiful, the lyrics "all the possibilities" really hit me because with little ones all things are possible and I hope all their dreams come true!

Here are a few close ups for better detail.

One tip I'd like to share.  As a scrapper, who doesn't have an overwhelming amount of paper strips??  Well my design is the perfect way to use some of them up!  So easy peasy and I love how it turned out!  What do you think?

That's it for today.  I do hope I have inspired you in some way to join in with Challenge YOUrself and with Scrap It With A Song this month.  Check us out for full challange rules and for tons of inspiration as well.  And be sure to link up by the end of the month with each of us to double your chances in winning some fun goodies!!

Thanks so much for visiting.  Happy scrapping to you!  I really look forward to seeing some cool creations.

Yum!

I've never participated in a lift challenge before so I decided it was time to join in on the fun at Scrapbook Challenges with Ali's liftapalooza.  For some reason I liked her design and wanted to copy it in my own way.  Here is what I came up with.

and here is Ali's original liftapalooza layout

As you can see I stuck with the three photos but turned my design to better accommodate my photos.  I really like how it turned out.  And just look at my beautiful granddaughter.  She is totally hamming it up for the camera as she eats up her ice cream.  Here are a couple of closeups.

I had a lot fun with this challenge and I love showing off my granddaughter too so it's a win, win!
Thanks so much for stopping by and feel free to leave some love, it's much appreciated!  Happy scrapping to you!

Meow Humbug

No, it's not the Christmas season but by the looks of my layout it is.  Ok, so I'm behind on my holiday scrapping but I bet I'm not the only one.  These photos are just too cute not to scrap, no matter the time of year.

As I was scrolling through Scrapbook Challenges for some inspiration I stumbled upon sketch 477 and it really intrigued me so I decided to join in.  As I was searching my photos to fit the sketch I came across these and and it just blossomed from there.  It all came together so nicely and I'm very happy with my turnout.  Here are a couple of close ups followed by the sketch.

What do you think?  Your comments are always appreciated and welcome!  Thanks so much for stopping by and happy scrapping to you!
