blended love

G'day scrappy friends!  Today is the 15th so that means we have a new sketch for you at Stuck?! Sketches.  This one involves many photos, which isn't common for me anymore so that makes it fun to play with.  Here is my take.

Here we are and yes, just as the title states, we are happily blended.  These were taken in 2004.  Wow!  10 years gone and it feels like last week.  Nothing has changed except our age.  We are still one happy family!

For this layout I used the Oh Snap collection by Echo Park and my background paper is by Bella BLVD.  I added some misc flowers from my stash, sprinkled a few areas with misting ink and topped it off with some enamel dots.

Here are a couple of close ups for better detail

and here is the sketch to follow.  I turned it to accommodate my photos

Now its your turn!  Go have some fun with it and be sure to link up by August 28 for a chance to win some fabulous prizes by random pick.  Please stop by Stuck?! for further details and for lots of inspiration.  I cant wait to see what you come up with.

I would also like to bring to your attention that Stuck?! Sketches will be having a party for the month of September celebrating their anniversary!

With Age Comes Grandkids

We have a new challenge for you at Challenge YOUrself.  This month it's all about celebrating your age.  Scrap your age, right now, today!  Here is my take

I'm celebrating my age by being a grammie!  One title I wear proudly and I absolutely love it!  A new phase in life for me and I couldn't be happier.

I FINALLY encouraged myself to use my sewing machine!!  This is my first time using this technique on a layout!  I'm so proud of myself and I think it turned out great!  I'll defiantly be trying this more often.  Here are a couple of close ups for better detail.

For this layout I used my 6x6 BasicGrey Kneehighs collection, the chipboard pieces are from the same collection as well.  I punched out 2-inch circles from the variety of patterned papers and for three of those circles I added a white border which I cut with my decorative scissors.  Added my journaling onto paper strips and topped it off with some wooden accents.  I've got to say, that stitching really sets it off.  Love it!

Now it's your turn!  Are you brave enough to scrap your age?  Sure you are!  It's only a number, right?  Be sure to link up by Sept 4 to win a great prize and don't forget to include YOU in the picture!  Go check out Challenge YOUrself for tons of inspiration and have fun with it!

Thanks for stopping by and happy scrapping to you.

family

Hello scrappy friends and happy August to you!  We have a new sketch for you at Stuck?! Sketches and we also have a color palette to follow for this one.  Here is my take

This is my gang <3
Spending time together is so important to me.  As they grow older and life gets busier, it is getting harder and harder to get all of us together.  But when we do I'm one happy mama!  You've just got to find time to do this.

For this layout I used an older collection by My Mind's Eye called Miss Caroline.  The colors worked out great for the color challenge involved.  For the banner I used a triangle punch and if you notice I used the negative piece as well, above the photo.  I just flipped it over and tucked it in behind the photo.  I've noticed many doing this clever little trick and I decided to join in.  That's one way to use it all up!  I also used a photo overlay by Becky Higgins.  The pre-printed sayings and designs are a great way to dress up a photo or to kill dead space.  As for the flowers and butterflies, they are misc pieces from my stash.

Here are a couple of close ups for better detail

That's it!  Now it's your turn!  I hope I have inspired you in some way to join in with us.  Be sure to upload by August 29 for a chance to win by random.  Please check out Stuck?! for further details and tons of inspiration.

Now onto the sketch and color palette

Great sketch, right?  And look at those colors... yummy!
Thanks for stopping by.  Happy scrapping to you!
