Expecting

Hello!  Hello, scrappy friends!  How was your weekend?  Mine was fabulous and not long enough!  Isnt that how it always goes, never enough time in a weekend!?

Today I have for you my DT layout for Nuts About Sketches

This is my DIL and she was such a beautiful mother-to-be!  She was my lil' photography model throughout her pregnacy as well and this is one shot of her I just adore and had to show off!  34 weeks here!

For this layout I used Alphabet junction by Carta Bella.  It was perfect for my photo!

The flat sticker elements are included in this collection and the chipboard pieces, including the title are by Bella Blvd called We're Expecting.  I also added a couple of Jenni Bowlin butterflies.  I love being able to mix elements like this!  Its so fun and uses up your stash as well.  For the journaling, handwritten on strips of white cardstock.  I just love doing this, it adds such a personal touch to any layout.

Now, before I forget, here is this weeks sketch to follow... #271 at Nuts Abot Sketches

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope to see you back very soon.  Enjoy your day!

Grammie & Molly - Awesome

Hello scrappy friends!

Today I have my DT layout for Lets Get Sketchy

and here is this weeks sketch to follow, June #2

As you can see its a fun sketch!  So many possibilities with this one.  If you get a chance, give it a try and be sure to link it up by the end of the month for a chance to win some goodies.

These are a few of the *selfie" photos I took of me and our granddaughter, Molly.  We were in the back seat together so why not take advantage, right!?  It was alot of fun even though she's not showing it.

For this layout I used Note To Self by Echo Park.  I've had this collection just sitting on my desk waiting to be used so I'm finally getting to it.  Love the colors!

For the background I spritzed plain white cardstock with cordinating colors and added a few drops of black ink as well.

After adding a few Luxe chipboard stars by Pink Paislee throughout the layout, I traced the outer edges with black marker to give them a doodled look.

For the title I wasnt happy with the plain color of the wooden accent pieces so I covered them with black dabber paint to better match my page.  I've got to say, I'm so addicted to those wooden accent pieces!  They are so hot right now too.

Well, that is it for today.  I hope I've helped out in some way to inspire you.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Enjoy the day :)

finally Home

Hello scrappy friends!

I have here my layout for Nuts About Sketches...

and here is this weeks sketch...

I mixed up my product with this layout.  I love being able to do this, its a good way to use up your stash!  The background paper is Treasured Moments by Elle's Studio and my half circle is by Little Yellow Bicycle called Poppy.

There are so many ways to cut a circle.  I have my cameo and a couple circle cutters but for this one I used a stencil.  We all know when hand cutting somethng out its not going to be perfect so I distressed it with my scissors to cover up the imperfections.

The cute little white houses are by Maya Road.  Since they are transparent I attach them by using an adhesive spray so they maintain clear.

I decided to add a couple of straws.  When I first received these a in kit of mine I had no idea how to use them!  I still dont *haha*  But I do love the how they look on this layout.

To top it off, I added a flair button, some wooden accents and a couple strips of washi tape!

I hope I've inspired you in some way.  If you get a chance, stop in at Nuts About Sketches and join in!
Thanks for much for stopping by!

size matters

Hello!  Hello!  How was your weekend?  Can you believe that its June?  Wow!  Time is just flyng by!

Today I have my layout for Let's Get Sketchy...

and here is this weeks sketch to follow...

For this layout I used Everyday Eclectic by Allison Kreft from Echo Park.  All the stickers are cordinating and are included in the collection.  I just love the colors and prints.  So fun!

Here are a couple closeups for a better look...

Just wrapping the bottom of the picture with some colored twine adds such a nice touch!  I just love twine.  For my circle I used a stencil, tracing it in pencil and going over it in black marker as I added some dots for a doodle effect.

Well that is it for today!  Pretty simple but so darn cute!  Stop by Let's Get Sketchy and join in if you can!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
