daddys Happy Girl

Hello!  Hello!
Today we have a new sketch up at Stuck?! and here is my take.

The title say it all!  Our little granddaughter is such a happy girl and a daddy's girl too.  I just happened to catch that perfect moment for this awesome photo.  I just love it!

For this layout I used a mixture of papers from two Calico Studio kits.  Sept 2013, Double Scoop and Feb 2014, Sugar Rush.  Its nice being able to mix and match from kit to kit.  It sure gives  you a lot more choices, but it can be overwhelming as well!

and now onto the sketch...

and here are a few close ups for better detailing.

Love, love, love all wooden accents!  I think I put at least one on every layout.

Love the colored plastic hearts by Studio Calico.  They are so darn cute!  More wood accents with the word 'daddys' added to the title.

I added a small doilie behind the photo and stamped the date below it.  I love the ombre effect stamping gives when you do it multiple times.

I added ink splatters and enamel dots for some color and dimension, along with another wooden piece.

That's it!  Pretty easy peasy and so darn cute!  I like how it all turned out.  Be sure to stop by Stuck?! for more inspiration and be sure to link up by May 29 for your chance to win some awesome prizes by random pick!

Thanks so much for stopping by and happy scrapping to you!

These Two

Happy hump day!
Today is the 7th which means there is a new challenge over at Challenge YOUrself!  This month we have a sketch to follow and the theme is to scrap about an important female(s) in your life.  And don't forget to include YOU in the photo!  Here is my layout...

Pictured here are two very special ladies in my life!  We started out as just neighbors and now we are the best of friends.  They truly are good to me and I am lucky to share my everyday life with them!

Ok, and now for the sketch to follow.

For this layout I used the March 2014 Studio Calico kit called Office Hours, along with some vellum paper.  I fell in complete love with the background paper!  I just love the colors and it was perfect for my photo.  Here are a few close ups for better detail.

The title are chipboard letters by Thickers.  One of my addictions and I think I own every set!

I came across this bubble chipboard piece in my stash that I've had for months.  I colored it with a white dabber to match my layout.  Layered it with a preprinted vellum piece and an arrow paperclip.  Also adding a couple of little paper punched butterflies.  Aren't they cute?  Did you notice the little red flowers in the background?  Those are by Studio Calico, also included in the March kit.  I sprinkled them around throughout my layout.  I love the pop of color it adds.

Staying with the vellum detail, I cut out a few strips for my journaling and lightly inked the edges.  Here's a peek at my birds on a wire washi tape too.  That is one of my faves!

I painted, with my grey dabber, 2 wooden girl peoples to play along with my title.  So darn cute!  Another of my faves!

That is for today.  I hope my layout has inspired you enough to give this months challenge a try at Challenge YOUrself.  Give them a visit and check out the other designs for more inspiration.  Be sure to link up by June 5 for a chance to win a fabulous prize!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Happy scrapping to you!

sugar & spice

Hello and happy Thursday to you!  Hang in there, it is almost the weekend!
Today is the first day of a new month meaning we have a new sketch up at Stuck?!  I do hope that you can find the time to join in with us.  Its a fun sketch and here is my take...

This is my granddaughter at 3 months.  Isn't she the cutest lil' thing you have ever seen?!  For this layout I used my February kit from Studio Calico called Sugar Rush.  I just love the papers included especially the one I used for my background!  So yummy!

and now for the sketch to follow... How fun is this one, right?  So many ways to work with it.

Here are few close ups of my layout for better detail.

The kraft die cut shapes are included in the kit, I just added twine to the tag.  How cute are the plastic colored hearts by Studio Calico?  As for the chipboard camera, that was a misc piece from my stash.

I added a small doilie and the homemade yoyo, topped with a wooden button.  Slowly eleminating some of my stash.

The title letters are by Thickers and the box letters are by October Afternoon.  Perfect colors!  Its so nice how you can mix product and make it work together.

Well, that is it for today.  I'm happy with the way my layout turned out and I hope its inspired you to join in with us at Stuck?!  Hop over for a visit and for more inspiration.  Be sure to link up by May 29 for a chance to win some awesome prizes by random pick!
