Love This Moment

I'm up on Scrap Our Stash blog today with my take on our March sketch challenge.  However, there is an added requirement with this one, that's to include gold embellishments.  Fun, right?  Gold is all the rave right now and this gives you an opportunity to get some used up!  Add a little or a lot, it's your call.

Aww, there he is, the man I now call my husband.  On this day, 02-12-15, after 20+ years together, we finally made it official.  This photo was taken right before we darted off to the courthouse to get married!  It was perfect!  Nothing big, just very sweet and intimate with our children present.

As you can see I kept it very simple with my gold embellishing.  I added just enough to give it a little sparkle.  My papers used are a mixture from my Gossamer Blue kits and they have touches of gold accents too.  I just love these monthly kits and how I am able to mix product from month to month and it all works.  My clusters are made of the "kiss kiss" ephemera pack from Crate Paper.  Here are a few close ups.

Now it's your turn!  There are so many possibilities with this sketch so go have some fun with it and make it your own.  I actually stayed pretty true to it, except for mirroring the placement.

Be sure to link up with Scrap Our Stash by March 29 to be entered into our monthly prize drawing and/or for a chance to be selected as our DT top 3 picks!

Thanks so much for stopping by and as always, happy scrapping to you!

Hello baby

Today is the 15th so that means we have a new sketch for you at Stuck?! Sketches and here is my take.  I stayed pretty true to it.

My baby is having a baby and it's happening in September!  Oh my, where does the time go?  When I came across this Prego sauce idea on Pinterest I thought it was the perfect way to announce it.  So creative!

For this layout my background paper is Gossamer Blue.  I'm trying to add more colorful backgrounds and not use white, like I normally do.  My embellishing is Simple Stories and look at that cute little wooden rocking horse!  Perfect for my theme!  As I mentioned earlier, I'm trying to stay away from white backgrounds.  I actually machine stitched my circles on the backside with it being a white grid design but I made myself use the more colorful side instead.  I'm still not sure if I like it!  What do you think?  Here are a few close ups.

That's it for today.  Now it's your turn.  Go have some fun with it and make the sketch your own.  Be sure to link up with us by March 29 for your chance to win some fun goodies.  Give Stuck?! Sketches a visit for lots of inspiration and for full challenge details.

Thanks for stopping by and happy scrapping to you!

MoHawk

We've got a new stash challenge this month at Scrap Our Stash.  We want your layout to include an item from your stash for each letter in the word S-T-E-N-C-I-L.  Here is mine to share.

This is my boy sporting a mohawk.  It was during that awkward grow out stage when he was due for a haircut that he decided to experiment and I actually like this look on him.  I think he wears it well.  We'll see how long it lasts.

Everything on this layout is from my stash.  I just love the motivation these stash challenges give me to use up my stash.  It's such a brilliant idea!  My items used are the following...

S - strips of paper pieces
T - twine
E - enamel dots
N - newspaper print
C - chipboard
I - ink splatters
L - letters

Now it's your turn to give it a try!  Go have some fun with it and get some of your stash used up!  We've all got tons, right?  Be sure to link up with Scrap Our Stash by March 29 to be entered into our monthly prize drawing and/or for a chance to be selected as one of our DT Top 3 Picks!

Thanks for giving me a visit and as always, happy scrapping to you!

Bucket List

It's that time again!  Time for a new challenge at Challenge YOUrself.  This month it's all about that bucket list.  We've all got one, right?  What are some of the things you want to do in life or what about the things you've already achieved?  Tell us about it!  And don't forget to include YOU in the photo.  Here is mine to share.

My list consists of the things I want to do and of things I have already done.  My highlight being that I attended an Ellen taping. That was such an awesome time and one of the best days of my life!  You have no idea how much I adore Ellen, I'm such a huge fan.

For this layout I used a mixture of papers and products, mostly being out of an older Studio Calico kit of mine.  I used a punch for my orange arrows and then added stitching to adhere them down and for added detail as well.  For balance I used washi tape on the bottom portion of my page and topped it off with a sprinkling of enamal dots.  Here are a few close ups.

What do you think?  I hope I've inspired you in some way because now it's your turn!  Get that list together and get creating!  I cant wait to see what you come up with.  Be sure to link up with us by April 4 for your chance to win!  Check out Challenge YOUrself for full challenge rules and for tons of inspiration!  And remember to include YOU in the photo.

Thanks so much for stopping by and happy scrapping to you!

Stop and smell the Flowers

Hello scrappy friends!  Happy March to you!  Oh, I just love that it's March already... spring is just around the corner now and I'm so ready for it!

I've got a new layout to share with you today.  This one is for Stuck?! Sketches and we've got a fun sketch for you to follow.  Here is my take.

Aww, our precious granddaughter stopping and smelling the flowers as I captured it on film.  I will never understand why dandelions are called weeds?  Makes no sense to me, or Molly.  She thought they were beautiful and smelled so good.

For this layout I used MME papers from different collections.  The embellishments are also a mixture, primarily from October Afternoon.  For the doilies, I painted them a soft yellow to enhance the flowers in my photos.  I really like the muted colors with my photos and photo frames.  I'm really on a roll here lately with using up my stash and I'm loving it!

Here are a few close ups for better detail.

I had alot of fun with this sketch by our one and only Laura Whitaker!  Now it's your turn!

Go have some fun with it!  Do what you want to make it your own.  I look forward to seeing your take.  Be sure to link up with us by Mar 29 for your chance to win some goodies!  For lots of inspiration and for full sketch rules, give Stuck?! Sketches a visit.

Thanks so much for stopping by and happy scrapping to you!
