I Dont Know Where I Belong

Hello scrappy friends!

We have a new sketch up at Scrap & Music and the song for this challenge is Ho Hey by the Lumineers.  What a fun song, right?

The lyric I choose within the song is "I don't know where I belong" and here is my take to share

This is my daughter in 2005, during that awkward and difficult time when you enter high school.  Do you remember that feeling?  I felt this song lyric was very fitting for this stage in life.

For this layout I used Allison Kreft's Recorded collection.  I just love  this collection, its so yummy!  It was one of my first purchases when I attended Scrapfest 2013 in September and this is actually my first time using it.  Yes, I admit, I'm a hoarder when it comes to yummy stuff!  I decided on vellum for my journaling.  Gotta love a cursive writing typewriter!  Best ebay purchase ever!

Here are a few close ups for you

Now it's your turn!  All you have to do is create a layout using the sketch below and a lyric within the song as the title and be sure to link up by February 8 for your chance to become our next guest designer!  For ideas and inspiration be sure to check out Scrap & Music now!

That's it for today.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Happy scrapping to you!

celebrate x2

Hello!  Hello!
Today is the 15th of the month so that means there is a new sketch up at Stuck?! Sketches.  My goodness, where has the first half of the month gone already?  It's just flying by!

Ok, here is my layout to share with you.

This is a picture of my boys and their birthdays are only 3 days apart so we have been celebrating them together for the past few years, per their request. They are at that age now where they are okay with sharing a birthday.

For this layout I only used one 12x12 paper as the background and the rest are stickers and embellishments.  I have to say this was one my fastest layouts ever completed!  I'm completely happy with the turnout too.

Here are a couple of close ups for better viewing

I hope you find the time to join in with us for your chance to win!  We have to two prizes.  First one being a $20 gift certificate by Creative Embellishments and the second one being, per winners choice, 2 spools of ribbon by May Arts Ribbon!  Be sure to link up by Jan 29.  The winners will be chosen by random.

Here is the sketch to follow

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope to see some familiar faces participate!  Happy scrapping to you.

Oh NO!

Hello and happy Sunday to you!

We have a new sketch up at Scrap & Music and the song for this challenge is Kiss Me by Ed Shearan.  There are many possibilities with this one so I do hope that you join in!

Here is my take to share with you

This little cutie is our granddaughter, Molly, and this is her newest facial expression in which she has perfected!  She makes this face at every sight and sound.  We call it her "Oh No" face.

For this layout I used Amy Tangerine's Ready Set Go collection by American Crafts, I also used many cardstock bits within this collection as well.  I then added some misc flowers from my stash and topped them with a light coating of stickles for some sparkle.

Now its your turn and here is the sketch to follow

All you have to do is create a layout using this sketch and a lyric within the song as the title and be sure to link up by January 25 for your chance to become our next guest designer!  Be sure to check out Scrap & Music for ideas and inspiration!

OLW 2014 - Move

Hello and happy Tuesday to you!

It's time for a new challenge at Challenge Yourself!  The challenge for this month is OLW - One Little Word.  It's a word of your choice that you will focus on and reflect upon throughout the year.  Surprisingly a word jumped out at me instantly.
Yes, move is my OLW.  Let me explain why I chose it, I have a few different reasons.  Number 1 being - MOVE IT!  Meaning, I will keep up with my daily workouts with more passion to stay healthy.  This is important to me.  Number 2 - MOVE FORWARD!  It's time to focus on my future, make it more meaningful and to stay happy.  Lastly number 3 - MOVE ME!  I'm going to start doing more things that inspire me and make me feel good.

Completing this layout was very inspiring actually, so I'm off to a good start.  And here it is.

This is me, showing off my new treadmill, which is only a couple weeks old.  It replaces the one that finally broke down after 15+ years.  I just love it!  It's one of the best purchases I've ever made.

For this layout I used Soho Garden by American Crafts.  It was a great way to use up scraps that I had in the collection.  It's so hard for me to throw any scraps away.  They do come in handy when you complete patchwork layouts such as this.  With my star punch I was able to use both the positive and negative pieces.  The patterned stars are popped.

Here are a few close ups for better viewing

I do hope you give this challenge a try.  If you are new to OLW or you just need a jumpstart, please head over to Challenge Yourself for lots of inspiration!  Link up by February 5 for a chance to win some goodies!

Thanks so much for stopping by and happy scrapping to you!
