The Moving Wall

Hello and happy Tuesday to you!
Today I have for you a layout that I created at my scrappy day.  I have a monthly scrap day during our cooler months and this past Saturday was my first one!  I just love hosting these fun days and I'm so glad to have the girls back over!

Last month I visited the Moving Wall and I have to say it was very touching.  It was quite a site and just by watching others got me choked up at times.  I have not lost any loved ones in the military but I do honor and thank our lost soldiers for their services.

Here are a couple closeups for better detail.

The papers and embellishment stickers are by Bella Blvd, the All American line.

The cute little pinwheels are by doodlebug designs.

Well, that's it for today.  Thanks so much for stopping by!
Happy scrapping to you!

It's official! I'm a Stuck?! Sketches design team member!

I've got great news!  I made the team!  I am officially a designer over at Stuck?! Sketches and I'm just happy, happy, happy about it!  Laura is such a great lady and I'm honored to be part of her team.  Check out the official announcement and the rest of the design team here!

Included in the application was a sketch to follow and I want to share my take on it

I just love this picture!  This is me with my babies on Mother's Day.  Such fun memories and precious moments, no matter their age.

My cluster chipboard pieces and die cuts are by amy tangerine.

By using my paper punch, I created the banner and then attached it to some twine.
Pretty simple techniques to this layout but yet so cute!  I do like how it turned out.
That's it for today!  For more ideas and inspiration go check out Stuck?! Sketches Now!

Thanks for stopping by and happy scrapping to you :)

Red White & Blue

Hello scrappy friends!

Since our summer is coming to an end and the weather is cooling off I had the urge to get my scrappiness on!  As I was browsing through my favorite scrapbook challenge sites I came across the perfect sketch from Stuck?!

This is a picture of my dad during his army days from 1964.  He sent this photo to my mother with a little note on the backside.  I scanned those words and copied them onto my journal strips.  They are his words to her in his actual handwriting.  He was really proud of his shiny boots :)

For this layout I used All American by Bella Blvd.  I created the stars with punches by layering and adding bling.  The title is an old embellishment I had in my stash.

Now for the sketch.  As you can see, I stayed pretty true to it.

That's it for today.  Thanks for stopping by.  Have a scrappy day!

So Typical of them

Hello Hello scrappy friends!
It's been some time since my last post, but I took some scrappy time off to enjoy the last of our summer.  Our summers just are not long enough!
I have for you today a layout I completed for my scrappy day, which will be taking place on Saturday!  I'm really looking forward to it!  Its my first of the season and I'm missing my girls!
I give the girls a monthly challenge, this one being - Scrap those silly pictures -
Here is my creation...

This is me with my kids, and of course they are making silly faces as I'm trying to get a good picture of us together.  This is just so typical of them!
For this challenge I used my monthly kit from Little Red Scrapbook.  I felt the colors were perfect!
Here are a couple of close ups for better detail...

I used up a mix of the little goodies in my cluster.  That's what I love about LRS monthly kits, Sara always has an array of fun goodies to play with!
I wanted to point out the bag that my journal card is in, it's one that was used to hold some goodies in my kit and I just re-purposed it!  And how cute is the heart confetti?  I just love the effect of it!  I also added stickles to the flowers and butterfly to add some sparkle.
That is it for today!  Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!
