JOY

We've got a Christmas table setting for you to use as inspiration at The Studio Challenges.  I just love these kinds of challenges.  It really gets my mind racing.  Here is what I came up with.

and here is your table setting for inspiration.

Is this beautiful or what??!!  All kinds of things were screaming at me when I looked at this setting... the colors, the plaid, the pops of gold, the pine trees, the deer.  Oh my, I was so overwhelmed but I did managed to incorporated all things mentioned above into my layout.

I used the Cozy Christmas collection by My Mind's Eye.  It was the perfect choice and it couldn't be any more fitting for this challenge, with the colors and that plaid paper...perfect! Also, let me point out the transparency that I placed over the plaid paper...love!  It was just the right touch to add some punch of gold.  I also added some gold splatters along with some gold gems to balance it out.  I just love how it turned out and I have to say, I totally nailed this inspirational challenge!  What do you think?

Now it's your turn!  Get into that holiday spirit and get going!  Our table setting inspiration awaits you.  Be sure to share with us at The Studio Challenges for your chance to be a chosen Guest Designer.  How fun would that be!

Thanks so much for stopping by and happy scrapping to you!

Pearly Girly

I've got a new layout to share today for our new challenge up at The Studio Challenges.  We've got a sketch to follow.  It was love at first sight for me because I just love to play with circles!

Aww, just look at our little princess.  Pearl was adopted into our family over a year ago and she fits right in!  She is truly a joy to have around.  Even though she is considered an adult cat now, she will always be a baby to me.

I really didn't use much product for this layout.  It's a more simple look but still has quite a bang.  The background paper is from the Capture Life collection by Allison Kreft.  It was the perfect effect I wanted with Pearl relaxing and sunning herself, giving the feel of the sun beams. Behind the photo I layered with plain white package tissue paper.  All I did was crinkle it up and rough up the edges by tearing it.  I'm really happy with how it turned out.

Again, I just love playing with circles so I really enjoyed working with this sketch.  I did mix things up a little but that's what I love about sketches, they are such a great starting point.  And now it's your turn to give it a try.

Be sure to share with us at The Studio Challenges.  I really look forward to see what you come up with.

That's it for today.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Happy scrapping to you!
