 Hello friends and happy December!

Wishing you an early Merry Christmas!  Are you ready?  I am and I'm feeling pretty good about it.  Only thing left to do is gift wrapping.

New month, new challenge at Challenge YOUrself.  This month is "anything goes"!!  My favorite!!  Ha!  This one is self-explanatory.  Anything and everything are possible.

Here is mine for inspiration...

Aren't these photos great!?  I absolutely hate to grocery shop so anything to make it more fun and I'm all in.  Funny face chip bags for the win!  I had a blast being silly and those around me got a laugh too.

For this layout I used a mixture of stashed product, from the papers to the embellishments and I focused on the yellow and red colors in my photos.  I just love how it turned out.  Such a fun, happy layout.

Kiss Me

 Hello friends and Happy November!

With it being a new month, we've got a new challenge posted at Challenge YOUrself.  For this challenge we are following a sketch.  I just love when we throw this in.  So many possibilities when using a sketch.  Here is mine for inspiration...

It's a fun one to follow.  I switched it up a bit and that's what makes it so fun.  Turn it, flip it, enlarge it... do whatever you want to accommodate your vision.  

I just love this photo of my husband and myself from our recent trip to Jamaica.  Please take me back!  Ugh, I just hate the wintertime.  When I was creating this layout it gave me all the warm thoughts and feelings.  Just what I needed on these cold Indiana days.  

For this layout I searched my paper scrap stash and choose matching prints/colors to accommodate my theme. I used my heart paper punch and randomly placed them, with the sketch in mind.  I then added some miscellaneous accents and DONE!  This one came together pretty quickly and I really love the outcome.

Whatever You Are Be A Good One

 Happy October and happy fall!

Not my favorite time of year but wow, I'm just loving up this gorgeous fall weather we are having.

This quote is by Abraham Lincoln and I absolutely love it!  I knew exactly the photos I wanted to use but wasn't quite sure on the design.  But once I came across this old overlay in my stash it all fell into place.  I just love when that happens!  I incorporated some matching miscellaneous bits and pieces, along with a mixture of alphabets and boom.... done!

Yes You Can!

 Happy September and Happy belated Labor Day!

I hope your holiday weekend was a good one.  Mine sure was!  It's one of my favorites because it's spent with family at the lake.  And the weather was absolutely perfect.

We've got a new challenge waiting for you at Challenge YOUrself.  This month is about life balance.  Think about what balances your life and then scrap it.  It can be about anything you like.  We all have our own ways on how we balance life, so there is no wrong way.  Feel free to use the pie chart as a reference.

Here is mine for inspiration.

Make. Yourself. A. Priority.

Yes!  Ever since I started doing this my life has become much more balanced.  My daily workouts are a must and they are now a part of my everyday life.  It's a lifestyle for me. I am in the best shape of my life and able to keep up and take care of what needs to be done.

For this layout I used pieces of miscellaneous papers from my stash and matched it up with some miscellaneous die cut and chipboard pieces.  I'm a sucker for grid layouts and I just love how this one turned out.

Having A Ball

 Welcome friends and hello August!

Wow!  Where did July go?  I felt like I missed it.  I'm just not liking how fast our summer is flying by.

I think you know what it means when a new month is upon us... it's time for a new challenge at Challenge YOUrself.  "Dressed to Impress" is the theme!  We want you to create a layout about getting dressed up for a special occasion, for any occasion.  It doesn't have to be only the fancy ones.

Here is mine for inspiration.

I'm a huge fan of Bridgerton on Netflix and when this event came to the Chicagoland area I was on it!!  My friend and I had so much fun!!  It felt like we were actually at a Queen's ball.  One of the best parts was dressing up for the occasion.  We felt so fancy.  

For this layout I used papers and embellishments by Pinkfresh.  The colors were the perfect match.  I also had so many pictures, making it was hard to choose which ones to use.  I ended up making a photo collage to compact them into one.  I really love how it turned out.

My Happy Place

Happy July to all my scrappy friends!

One of my absolute happy places is our local frozen yogurt shop.  I am addicted!!  They switch out their flavors every two weeks, so I go often to try the new flavors.  Mmm so good!!

For this layout I picked this cool preprinted background paper from one of my Hip Kit Club kits and a matching ephemera pack and made it into a messy collage.  I think it turned out pretty cute.

I Rock The 80's

 Hello friends and happy June!

A new month means a new challenge at Challenge YOUrself.  This month is about your favorite song.  We want you to create a layout about your favorite song.  You can use the lyrics or tell us what the song means to you... etc.  Get creative with it!  

Here is mine for inspiration.  Material Girl isn't necessarily my favorite song but it sure is a fun classic one and I was totally dressed for it!  

Heading to an 80's party and what a fun evening out it was.  I actually won first place with my attire.  I'm all about the 80's.  It was totally the best era!

For this layout I used a variety of collections with a similar color and it all came together.  For my title I lifted it from Google images and just did some fussy cutting.  It was perfect!!

Now it's your turn!  We all have a favorite song or pictures to accommodate a good song.  This challenge can be overwhelming if you let it because we all have many favorite songs.

Perfet Paradise

Hello, hello and welcome!

Who's ready to get "Get Messy" !? 

 That's the theme for this month at Challenge YOUrself.  Get those inks out and go create.  I love these types of challenges because I never use my inks.  I always say I will but never do.  I had so much fun with this one.

This was such a long overdue vacation for us both.  We haven't traveled together since 2019.  Now that the pandemic is under control we can start our annual trips back up.  Oh how I have missed this.  It was honestly one of the best trips ever.  

For this layout I want to give credit to Wendy Meffan as the inspiration.  I absolutely love her page and used it as a scraplift.  Isn't it gorgeous?!!  That sunburst was the perfect touch.  Another thing I need to use more of are my stencils.  I've got tons and this challenge gave me the incentive to incorporate more of them.

 Hello and happy April!

We've got a new challenge posted at Challenge YOUrself.  It's a fun one this month.  Then and Now is the theme.  I absolutely love this!  Here is my inspiration.

This is my dear husband and yes, I made him pose for this photo, to react our first one.  Bless his heart for understanding and being patient with me and my camera.  This is one, of many reasons we are still going strong!  

For this layout I used the Kissing Booth collection by Simple Stories. It was the perfect match for my black and white photos.  I just love how it turned out.  It all came together quickly too, and that's unusual for me.  Ha!

I love working with black and white photos!  They are so veratile.

 Happy March!

It's the start of a new month which means a new challenge is posted and waiting for you at Challenge YOUrself.

This month is all about sports.  Do you have a sports fanatic in your family?  My son bleeds basketball and I'm his number one fan!  Here is my inspiration.

Yes, this event was many years ago, but it still feels like it happened yesterday.  This challenge was the perfect opportunity for me to create a layout for this special night in my son's high school basketball career.  He absolutely loved it and I absolutely loved watching him play.  I couldn't be prouder.

For this layout I used paper scraps and bits from my stash.  The background paper is very old.  I knew I saved it for a reason.  Ha!  I love how this all came together.

My Kind Of Meditation

 Hello friends and Happy February!

I can not believe it is February.  My goodness where has the time gone?  Our winter has been so mild that it makes the time move even faster.  

A new month means a new challenge is up and waiting for you at Challange YOUrself.  This month's theme is about mediation.  How do you meditate?  How do you relax?

Here is my take...

Yep!  This is how I meditate!!  

Some yoga + some wine = relaxing.  Ha!  It was such a fun day spent with my girls.  

For this layout I used a fall kit from Hip Kit Club.  The colors were perfect, and it was a fall day.  This design is such a great way to use up those paper strips too.

All The Feels

 Happy New Year!

We're a good week in already and how is 2023 treating you so far?  It's going very well my way.  Been rather busy actually and that is why my post is a bit late.  I still have my Christmas tree up too.  Ha!  That's okay, all those twinkling lights make me smile.

I've got a new layout to share today for our new challenge this month.  

The theme is: 2022...the year in review.

You can interpret it any way you like.  For example, you can scrap about how one experience changed/stood out for you, or about different experiences you had, or you can put your photos in chronological order.  Scrap it however you like, it's up to you!

I decided on one experience that truly changed my life and changed me as a person. Posada Ladies Retreat. I cant put it into words how grateful I am for this experience.  It was something I didn't even realize I needed.

This Posada Ladies Retreat was something way out of my comfort zone and ended up being the best thing that happened to me in 2022.  A reset. A new look on life and tons of new freindships.

For this layout I used an older Hip Kit Club scrapbook kit.  The vibrant, happy colors were perfect!
