Hello scrappy friends! December is coming to an end and the hustle and bustle of Christmas is over. I have to say I'm glad and I feel more relaxed now. I've been enjoying the "after Christmas sales" too. It's the best time to stock up for next Christmas actually!
Ok, time to move on. Today I have for you my DT layout for Scrap & Music. The song- Nothing Else Matters by Metallica.
These are my babies back in 1998, caught in the act while playing house with our beloved cat, Giddy, being their baby. Giddy was such a good sport, always letting the kids do with him what they wanted. He was not your average cat, he fully enjoyed being the center of attention. Unfortunately we lost him this past March. He lived a good life and we are happy to have spent 16 yrs with him!
For this layout I used Note To Self by Echo Park. I felt that I've had it hoarded for long enough! With this sketch comes a lot of layering and since I struggle with this technique, it was good for me. I need to venture out of my box once in awhile.
Here are a few close ups for more detail
and here is the sketch to follow
Now it's your turn! Just create a layout using the sketch above and a lyric within the song as the title and be sure to link up by January 11, 2014 for your chance to become our next guest designer! Stop by Scrap & Music for more inspiration.
Thanks for stopping by and happy scrapping to you.

The Midnight Hour
It's time for a new sketch at Scrap & Music today and the song for this challenge is "Like A Prayer" by Madonna. When I was reading through the lyrics this line hit me - "the midnight hour". The vision of New Years Eve came to mind. This scrapping to music is so fun and it really gets you thinking! I do hope you give it a try.
Here is my take
Here we are bringing in the new year of 2008. Ok, so I'm a little behind! I do not scrap in any particular order, nor are my scrapbooks in any order. Most find this hard to believe since I'm a very organized person, but when it comes to scrapping in order by the dates, I am all over the place!
For this layout I used a whole mish mosh of product. I just went picking through my stash and through my monthly kits to find some goodies that I felt fit. I'm happy with the turnout :)
Here are a few close ups for you
I do hope you get a chance to check out Scrap & Music for more inspiration and to join in with us. Link up before December 28 for a chance to become our next guest designer!
All you need to do is put these two together - SKETCH + MUSIC. - create a layout using our sketch and part of the song as a title. Again, the song is "Like A Prayer" by Madonna. Good luck!
That's it for now. Thank you for stopping by today and happy scrapping to you!

Hellooo friends!
It's time for a new sketch at Stuck?! Sketches and it's all about Christmas for this one! "Naughty or Nice?" Hmm... you be the judge!

Here are a few close ups
and now for the sketch by our one & only Laura Whitaker!

Page Drafts Christmas Cheer Release 2013 "Holiday Tradition"
Hello scrappy friends!
Today is the day! The wait is over and its now time for Page Drafts Christmas Sketch Release! I'm so excited to be part of this and to share my layout with you!
There are 5 sketches in this fabulous release and they are awesome! I just love Emma Stafrace's sketch work. They are so clear and full of detail, making them easy to work with.
I have my layout based on #4, the top middle one. This one was different from what I've worked with and it really caught my eye so I wanted to give it a shot.
and here is my take...
I went back a few years This photo is of my kiddos in 2007. Wow! How the time flies! Taking an annual Christmas card photo is a holiday tradition of ours since way back and during this shot they were cracking up. I just love this and it would have been my pick for the photo card, but they wouldn't hear of it. So I'm able to scrap it instead. At least I got to finally show it off!
For this layout I used It's Christmas by Allison Kreft, along with some craft Christmas stickers by Hambly. I just love this Christmas line and it worked well with the Hambly stickers!
Here are a couple of close ups for a better look
I had a lot of fun working with this sketch and you can too! Go check out the Page Drafts blog and their facebook page as well, for details to join in! I'm sure you will drool over the Christmas inspiration from so many talented designers! Such awesome work to get your creativeness pumping. Link up and show off your designs from the PD Christmas Cheer sketches. Emma would love that and she highly encourages you to do so! I hope to see some familiar faces!
Thanks for stopping by and happy, scrappy holidays to you!

bits about me
I'm here today with my very first DT layout for Challenge YOUrself! It's a new challenge blog with today being their "grand opening" reveal and I'm so excited to be part of this!
The challenge for December is "Behind the Lens". You must scrap yourself, using a self portrait or selfie and list a minimum of 3 random facts about yourself as well. As popular as selfies are today, this is a perfect challenge, but remember it must be a pic of YOU!
and now for my design
For this layout I used a 12x12 white hexagon placemat by Jillibean Soup. Since placing it over white cardstock I inked the inside edges to give it some pop! I then, randomly, added some little bits of wooden accents all over the page. Mind you, that's how I decided on the "bits" in my title.
Here are some close ups for better viewing
I did some fussy cutting around my flowers for my cluster
This is a great way to use up those misc wooden accents!
Now its your turn! I sure hope to see some familiar faces give it a try! A random winner will be chosen for a $20 gift certificate to Paper Issues, so be sure to link up before Jan 5, 2014 for your chance to win! That gives you a full month! Complete challenge rules are explained here. For more inspiration check out Challenge YOUrself now and become a follower so you don't miss out on our monthly challenges!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Enjoy the day and happy scrapping to you.

That's Amore
Today I have for you my first DT layout for Scrap & Music! The song: That's Amore by Dean Martin. I've never scrapped a sketch based on a song before and come to find out, its more of a challenge than I thought. I love it though! It really gets me thinking.
Here is my take...
I was a bit stumped when I first discovered our chosen song. I had no idea what "amore" really meant. And for those of you who don't know either - amore: love; a feeling of great affection. After reading this it became clear to me in an instant to scrap the love of my life and I knew which picture I wanted to use too! From there, I went to work.
For this layout I used a kit from Little Red Scrapbook that I have been hoarding. I just love the happy bright colors! I also dug out my hexagon punches, which haven't been used in awhile.
Here are a couple of close ups...
and here is the sketch...
Give it a try! The rules are very easy. All you have to do is follow the sketch and use some part of the lyrics to the song as the title. Be sure to link up to Scrap & Music before December 13 for your chance to become our next guest designer. How fun and easy is that?! I hope to see some familiar faces give it a try!
Thanks for stopping by and happy scrapping to you!
