Molly tray

Hello scrappy friends!

Today I have for you a photo tray that I'd like to share.  I made this for my granddaughters first birthday, which was this past Saturday.

When deciding on how to advertise the months as she grew, I didnt like the idea of a photo in every box because I felt that was too many photos.  With all of my shots being closeups that left me with no room to decorate if I chose to advertise all 12 months, and I didnt want to print the photo smaller than a wallet size.  So I decided to go with her even months, leaving me empty boxes to work with.  Notice the bottom right box is empty... that one is saved for her 12 month photo.

For this project I used the 6x6 paper pad KneeHighs by BasicGrey and the cordinating chipboard stickers of the same collection.

Here are a few closeups...

I kept it pretty simple with a clean look and I have to admit everytime I look at it I just smile!

Thats it for now.  Thanks for stopping by and happy scrapping to you!

I Like You

Happy Happy Monday and hello scrappy friends!

I have for you today my DT layout for Nuts About Sketches and its one hot mess!  But I have to admit I actually like how it turned out.

This is myself with a couple of my besties!  We are in the bathroom taking selfies together in the mirror of a new restaurant that we decided to stop at, on our way home from a long exhausting weekend.  This is exactly what we needed.  Good times and laughter is the best medicine!

For this layout I used a mix of products, so that is why I'm calling it a 'hot mess'.  The woodgrain background paper is by Glitz and the half cutout circle piece is by Hambly.  The title sheet, chevron card and banner are by Glitz as well, from the Color Me Happy collection.  The photo frames are mics. chipboard pieces that I painted with a coordinating color.

Here are a few closeups for better detail viewing.

I'm just in love with all the wooden accents out there and these are just a few from my stash!  Also, isnt that such a cute flair button?  Its by The Paper Bakery.

The fabric yoyo flower was a misc piece from a kit of mine, along with the paperclip arrows, as well as the rhinestone red bow.  And how cool are my stem pieces?  They are the left overs from my paper punch that I used on my journaling paper.

So as I stated before, this is just one hot mess of a layout with such a large mix of product being used!  I do like how it turned out though and I will start doing some more of this mixing and matching in the future!  I need to get my leftover stash used up!

Now before I forget, here is this weeks sketch to follow at Nuts About Sketches.  I'd love to see your take on it, if you get a chance!

Thats it for today.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Enjoy your week!

Handsome REX

Hello Scrappy friends and happy Monday to you!
Today I have for you my DT layout for Nuts About Sketches.  I love a grid sketch!  They look so clean and cute.  So many possibilities with them too.

This is my little fur baby, Rex.  He truly is my ray of sunshine and I just love him to pieces!
For this layout I used Oxford Lane by My Mind's Eye.  When I first received this line in my monthly kit by Little Red Scrapbook I wasn't quite feeling it.  But once I started playing, it grew on me.

I cut the selected pattern papers into 2x2 inch squares and outlined them with black marker for a doodle effect.  With the chipboard pieces, I layered them and arranged them into clusters, also outlining some with black marker.

The chipboard title letters are called Fern by Thickers.  Oh goodness, have you know Thickers are a weakness of mine!  I've really got to quit buying them!
For my journaling, I used little sticker letters.  I just love this look when adding a phrase!  Its so fun!

Before I forget, here is this weeks sketch to follow at Nuts About Sketches.  Join in if you can!  I'd love to see your take on it!

Well, that's it for today!  I hope I've help inspire you in some way.  Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Heads Up

Happy Tuesday scrappy friends!

Today I have a layout for Chic Tags.  Its for their Sunday challenge and this week it is triangles!  They seem to be the big rave right now so I wanted to participate!

This is my granddaugther with one of her firsts caught on camera!  Yep, she is lifting her head up all by herself!  I'm such a proud grammie and had to scrap this moment to show it off.

For this layout I used Storyteller by Crate Paper.

I used my square punch and cut the squares diagonally in half and then placed them randomly onto my white cardstock.  This is such an easy and cool way to make triangles!  And a great way to use up some of your scraps too.

I matted my picture, wrapped some twine around the dead space, added my title and a few button and stamped my date.  That's it!  Easy peasy and so darn cute!

Here are a few close ups to show more detail.

I do have to add that this is a scraplift but there was no info on the picture in my files so I can not give credit where credit is due :(

Now get out your square punch and give these triangles a try!  Thanks so much for stopping by!
